Museu do Arroz

This cultural space, a former rice factory, has been transformed into a museum, trendy restaurant and relaxing lounge bar. Here one goes back in time and can appreciate the importance of this crop in the history of the Herdade da Comporta. The facilities, dating back to 1952 when shelling began at Comporta, features a delicious restaurant, offering light (pick and share) and main course meals as well as divine cocktails.

Built as a fortress in the 17th century, the Fortaleza do Guincho has been sumptuously renovated as a premium hotel and has a Michelin Starred restaurant. The dramatic setting overlooking Guincho beach and the Atlantic Ocean, exposes this place to all the beauty and drama of nature.

Originally with a French concept, since the arrival of Chef Miguel Rocha Vieira the restaurant has introduced Portuguese products and traditions on its menu. The Michelin star is held until today.

It can get very busy so we recommend you arrive early, at about 7:30pm or late, at around 10:00pm!

Two new restaurants were awarded Michelin Stars in Portugal in 2018 and they are both in the Algarve! The São Gabriel and the infamous and stunning Vila Joya Hotel’s restaurant. The alchemy which fused the traditional Portuguese with Moorish architectural elements is also present in its kitchen, where Dieter Koschina's culinary creativity has won Vila Joya's restaurant that fabled second Michelin star. If your Algarve ideal is all about 5-star sumptuousness, cosseted relaxation and outstanding food, Vila Joya should be right at the top of your list.
