The Fig Tree Estate

The Fig Tree Estate is an authentic Ribatejo property set in 1400 hectares of pine and cork trees.
The secluded estate is fully staffed with a private chef and caters for corporate groups, large family gatherings and events such as weddings and corporate incentives.
The social living areas are sumptuously decorated revealing the rich heritage of Portuguese country life and celebrating the Lusitano horses that are bred on the estate. There are two large living rooms and a library/study perfect for reading and brushing up on Portuguese history and culture.
The dining room can seat 16 on the main table for more formal banqueting and a smaller breakfast table seats up to 8 in an alcove that has panoramic views over the estate. The ground floor living and dining areas lead onto a covered seating area and a large terracotta terrace centred with two ancient olive trees, perfect for sundowners before dinner. The estate chef specialises in typical Portuguese cuisine to an exacting standard and will also prepare picnics for daytime excursions.
A covered lower terrace also has a large table seating 10 guests for al fresco dining and also has large seating areas to enjoy sundowners. The covered terrace leads onto the outdoor swimming pool with ample sun lounging space to soak up the sun whilst cooled by the fresh country breezes.
The estate also boasts a luxury spa complete with indoor swimming pool with panoramic windows overlooking the estate, a sauna, steam room, massage room and gymnasium.
The guest accommodation comprises a total of eight bedrooms, four king-size en suites with bedroom lounges and televisions. Each of these bedrooms access terraces, perfect for waking up and stepping out into each morning. Three more en suites are furnished with two single beds and a children’s bedroom has 5 beds, perfect for young ones regaling each other with the adventures of each day.
The equestrian heritage of the estate is central to the Fig Tree Estate experience. Horse-riding excursions are provided and even encouraged by the estate, either in the saddle or by one of the selection of charming carriages.
For those more excited by mechanics, mountain bikes and Quad cross can be organised on the extensive tracks found throughout the estate.
The location of the property reflects the endless list of possible activities, with the city of Lisbon only 40 minutes drive away and the Caparica, Arrabida and Comporta beaches all within under an hour’s drive. A hot air balloon ride over the endless cork and pine covered hills will really take your breath away.
